Internships
Studio Students will be involved in a minimum of three internships during an academic year. Internship work for all Studio Students where each works in parallel pursuits with adults during three distinct kinds of experiences will occur in the following 3 areas:
• A Professional Iinternship,
• A Research Internship,
• A Service Learning Internship,
Students will be involved in the work of the professional adults who lead and mentor during the internship. The important thing will be to get students involved in the work that is being done, not to create artificial things for students to do (Bushby, 2007). During internships, students will do the work of professionals, then read, write, speak, and produce movies about their experiences. All internship work will be the foundation under and the springboard for STEM based literacies. All internship work will also be the springboard for Studio Based Learning Design Projects.
