Juries

SBL requires public juries and defense of performance-based work and for thisprocess we plan to build a national network of design critics to assess Studio Student work; critique will come from local experts as well as experts from across the country. Juries would include the personal expertise of family and community members along with professional experts. For example, this might mean that nationally recognized aerospace engineers, researchers, graduate and/or undergraduate students would critique a Studio Student’s design solution or multimedia documentary of his/her research work at the Mississippi State University Raspet Flight Lab. Digital Internet and networking technologies have made this possibility a very cost effective reality of which Studio School plans to take advantage. This would mean Studio Student designs could be offered critique from national and international experts.

Studio

School has a national measure of academics based on performance-based and student constructed assessments. For middle and high school students and especially those who are underserved, this kind standards based exposure to the world of work, expertise, and technology is highly unusual.
